ABOUT JASON ASHBERG

Jason Ashberg was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in the mid 70's.

Since an early age, he’s been interested in all art forms. He’s studied the drums, music, acting, and film directing as well as performing as an actor in plays and playing drums in live performances. Jason has always been fascinated with the art of filmmaking as a Director. Realizing that it would be the ultimate form of expression for himself, he decided to pursue a career as a film Director.

Jason is a graduate from the South African School of Film, Television and Dramatic Art (AFDA), where he directed a number of short films, music videos and commercials.

One such TV commercial Won a student SILVER LOERIE and an American CLIO AWARD. His final year short film earned him the Best Director Nomination from the School as well as being nominated at The Newcomers Competition for best short film held at the Sithengi film market in South Africa.

His short film "Pendulum" has garnered widespread praise.
Acquired for worldwide licensing and distribution by Imaginites Australia, "Pendulum" screened at the Raindance Film Festival in London and Palm Beach International Film Festival.

Since then, He has directing numerous projects of different types and genres.

Jason is now based in the NYC TRI-STATE Area of the UNITED STATES where he continues to collaborate with writers on short and feature film screenplays and projects that are currently at different stages of development.
